Honeybush and chamomile folded together for a soft, honeyed cup before bed. Loose leaf, packed in a 120 g glass jar with a hand-written label on the base.
What is in the jar
Honeybush and chamomile at close to an even ratio, so neither flower takes over. Long-cut leaf, not dusted, which is why a strainer does more for this blend than a tea bag.
Brewing ratios
3 g per 250 ml at 95°C for four minutes. Steep longer and the chamomile turns flat; shorter and the honeybush sweetness stays hidden. Caffeine free, so it suits a late tray.
Where it gets used
Guesthouses reorder this one for evening trays, and it holds up iced with a slice of orange when the kitchen is too warm for a hot pot.
Condition and packing
Packed in small runs from the Cape Town packing room, so lots turn weekly. The glass jar is refillable; a 250 g refill pouch tops it up roughly twice.
